Step-by-Step Guide for Applying for KMTC Courses on KUCCPS Portal

Important Notes

Before applying for KMTC courses, please note the following:

• A non-refundable application fee of Ksh 1,500 is required to complete the application process.

• Once the fee is paid, you can make unlimited revisions to your course selections without additional payment, provided the application/revision period is still open.

• You can revise your course selections by deleting your current choices (Programme Codes) on the Application/Revision page and replacing them with new Programme Codes of your desired courses.

Step-by-Step Guide

1. Access the KUCCPS Portal

Go to the KUCCPS student portal at https://students.kuccps.net/login/.

2. Log In to Your Account

On the login page, enter your credentials:

• KCSE Index Number

• Password (Use either your Birth Certificate Number or KCPE Index Number)

Note: Your Birth Certificate Number is located at the top right of your birth certificate (e.g., 0832057). This number is unique to every Kenyan citizen.

Click LOG IN to proceed.

3. Navigate the Dashboard

Once logged in, you will see the Dashboard, which displays:

• Your subject cluster points

• Your overall KCSE grade

• Navigation menus at the top, including Institutions, TTC Programmes, KMTC Programmes, etc.

4. Selecting a KMTC Course

• Click on KMTC Programmes to view available courses and the respective campuses offering them.

• Each course has a Programme Code. Note down two Programme Codes for your selected course (one as your first choice and one as your second choice).

• The KMTC Programmes page consists of two pages. Courses 1 – 25 are on the first page, while courses 26 – 35 are on the second page. Click “Next” or “2” at the bottom of the page to view more courses.

Example:

If you want to apply for a Diploma in Clinical Medicine and Surgery:

1. Click KMTC Programmes.

2. Since this course is not listed on the first page, click “Next” to go to the second page.

3. Find Diploma in Clinical Medicine and Surgery at position 32.

4. Click on the course to view details such as Minimum Subject Requirements and available campuses.

5. Confirm that you meet the requirements, then note down two campuses where you’d like to study.

6. Example Programme Codes:

   • First Choice: Busia Campus (4735K32)

   • Second Choice: Isiolo Campus (4790K32)

5. Start the Application Process

• Click on Application/Revision in the top menu.

• If you are a first-time applicant, update your contact details and click SUBMIT.

• Revisit the Application/Revision page if the system does not redirect you automatically.

6. Enter Your Course Selections

• Click APPLY NOW at the top right of the page.

• Enter the two Programme Codes you noted down in order of preference.

• Once you input a Programme Code, the system will automatically highlight the selected course.

• Click SUBMIT.

7. Backup Placement Option

The system will prompt you to confirm if you want to be placed in any other programme in case you don’t secure your selected choices.

• Selecting “Yes” allows KUCCPS to place you in another institution.

• Selecting “No” means you may have to revise your courses later if you are not placed.

• It is recommended to choose “Yes” to increase your chances of securing a placement.

8. Payment Process

• To finalize your application, make a payment and enter your eCitizen Ref No. / eCitizen Acc No. / Payment REF.

• A blue link will appear on the payment page with step-by-step instructions.

• Once you complete the payment, note down the Payment Reference Number and input it on the KUCCPS portal.

• Click SUBMIT, and the system will process your application.

• You will be redirected to the Dashboard, where you can confirm your course selection.

9. Logging Out

Once your application is complete, log out by clicking the Kenyan Flag icon at the top right corner and selecting Logout.

Final Thoughts

• Ensure you meet the minimum requirements before applying.

• Double-check your Programme Codes before submitting.

• Take advantage of the revision window if needed.

• Follow the provided payment instructions carefully.
